Bringing Textbooks to Life!

        The Outdoor Education Center at Camp Olympia is a magnet science school within the Houston Independent School District.  We are located 90 miles north of Houston in Trinity, TX along the shores of Lake Livingston.  Students typically spend four days and three nights learning with us through hands-on experiences.
       Our mission is to facilitate a unique and meaningful educational experience for Houston ISD students utilizing our natural setting.  Interdisciplinary activities will guide discovery and exploration that stimulate an appreciation and understanding of interdependence:

                             - one person to another;
                             - one culture to another;
                             - people with nature; and
                             - things within nature
